Alluded to this record a few years back. Sold it last year on behalf of a friend. If you look it up on Popsike you will get the idea he had a nice Christmas present.

Disco boogie business, and very rare.

Here is the first of them, spinning gently around.

Featuring the Margie Joseph 45 the other day made me think of Blue Magic.

I dug deep in the boxes for this one. I think it must be 30 years at least since it was last played. Not forgotten though, I must have played it so many times back then that is has always been a song that has stuck with me. From time to time it still pops in my head.

Some Philly magic.

Car Boot sales have just about finished now but there is one (at least) in my area that seems to continue through the winter. I paid it a visit this morning, pickings were thin, but I did come away with this 70/71 thereabouts Atlantic compilation album. A good excuse to play this, which probably played on many a car cassette player driving round the said motorway back in the day. I can't believe I haven't got this on vinyl:

Wow! Where did that last week and a half go? Nothing exciting to report but I’ve been neglecting things here. As much time as usual seems to have been spent on researching things on the Internet, but this time it’s not been music related but boring things such as how to fix a couple of electrical related problems on one of our cars. Yes, I know, yawn!
Back to the music – and another B side.

From the design point of view Phil-LA Of Soul has to be my favourite record label. I love it so much I bought the T-shirt!
It’s got it all – I love the fish design, I love the label name’s play on words, I love the starkness of the black on yellow, and I love the (I think) unique way it was chosen to designate each release – that is the initial of the first name followed by the first two

Beside myself : Friday version

So Feel It’s physical home has been reorganised; I’ve got a shiny new laptop with all my files and programs now transferred from the old PC; I think I’ve got the new gizmo (USB soundcard) working to my satisfaction; and I think I’ve got used to Audacity to record my vinyl (I had to move away from the other software I was using as it wouldn’t work with Windows 7).
Everything’s good to go.

Georgia Soul has featured this single before (and a great picture of Delia), and you can also get the lowdown on Dee Dee (Delia) here.

Irma Thomas in Muscle Shoals – a potent brew.
Rick Hall’s studio was the hot destination in the late Sixties. But having set up a seemingly perfect marriage Chess only released three singles from the sessions and left the rest in the can. Irma soon moved on. As they say: go figure.
Of the three singles this one was the only one to dent the Billboard charts, reaching #42 R&B in February ’68.

Looks like rain, we could retire to the conservatory.

Very happy to pick this one up in a local chazza today for 50p.
