I thought I had bought this: But when I played it it was this: mystery track 1969 To look at, the 45 is Fountain FOA-1102 - the other side of the 45 is what it is supposed to be i.e. Infinity "Get On The Case", and the etched matrix numbers in the dead wax agree with the labels on both sides so there is no clue there. It sounds like they are singing "soulation", but googling that doesn't help.

Every now and then I run back to Ann Peebles and that Hi sound. This song from the album "I Can't Stand The Rain" didn't make it onto a US Hi 45, here in the UK it was the B side of "You Keep Me Hanging On".   Ann Peebles - Run, Run, Run 1974  Buy "I Can't Stand The Rain". This was recorded in New York, and as far as I know none of the personnel have any connection to New Orleans, but a few tracks on this album have a real Crescent City feel. Bernard "Pretty" Purdie is the sticksman here, and the female vocalist is Jean Pace, Oscar Brown Jr's wife. Reviews of this album don't normally highlight this track as one of the standouts, but I really like this.

It was time for another tidy up of my vinyl collection at the weekend. Last weekend was of the Bank Holiday variety here in Blighty. That meant extra opportunity to hit the car boot sales. Yippee!  It didn’t start well. A Saturday visit yielded precisely nothing. The nest is active at the moment. Just as our son was returning home after six weeks backpacking with friends in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia so our daughter was departing, again with backpack, for five weeks+ in America.
